Our training team has been making some significant process towards our ultimate goal of delivering a training session on Google Apps for the South Carolina Department of Education. The training session will be prerecorded and offered to teachers in SC that are interested in learning about this new technology. We will be using an open source video software, CamStudio, to record the training videos. We will be posting these videos along with other useful information for the teachers on NiceNet, an internet classroom assistant. To learn more about NiceNet, visit their website at http://www.nicenet.org.
In class, we have been moving towards our annotated bibliography assignment. Last week we chose our topic, and this Thursday we have our first citation due. The topic I initially chose was how many virtual high schools are currently operating. It was difficult for me to find any relevant articles on that narrow of a topic, so I expanded it to trend in K-12 virtual learning. I believe that by altering my topic, I will be able to find better and more useful resources. I am interested in learning about this because just a few years ago, it was only a concept. Now, virtual learning is increasing daily.

Blog 2
This is my second blog entry for TSTM 544. School is going as well as it can be right now and things are moving in the right direction for me study wise. We have formed training groups in this class and are beginning the preliminary work for our training session for the SC Department of Education. This Wednesday at 4:00, our group is meeting with Mr. Tony Dillon, the education associate at SCDE. We are still trying to figure out how the training session will be delivered. We have brainstormed over recording it with an open source video recorder and having some sort of discussion board to answer questions. Things will begin to fall into place after the meeting and within the next few weeks.
